First birthday photoshoot in Southampton & Reading
Capturing your baby as they reach their first birthday is great fun. These birthday photoshoots are set up in the same style as the rest of my sessions; all very natural and relaxed.
All we will ask baby to do is play - that’s it! No pressure to sit and smile at the camera, no expectation on them to pose for me. They’ll have lots of fun playing with my collection of beautiful wooden toys while I snap away.
A cake smash photoshoot (without the cake!?)
I don’t know about you but I am a BIG fan of cake and it breaks my heart to see good cake destroyed and wasted during cake smash photoshoots. I’ve got the perfect alternative - a gorgeous wooden cake with candles! We’ll sing happy birthday and your birthday boy/birthday girl can blow the candles out without a single crumb touching the floor 👍
You may be keen to capture your little one tucking into a cake, so you are of course welcome to bring a one along. I’m happy to advise and recommend a local cake maker to make your smash cake for you.
What should I dress my baby in for their birthday photoshoot?
I’m sure you’ve been trawling through Pinterest looking for inspiration on how to dress your baby for their birthday photos but please trust me when I say that simple is beautiful.
Of course, if you have a special outfit or personalised birthday t-shirt then do bring it along for a few photos. My job is to create a cohesive gallery of images that work together, this works well when we stick to whites, creams and neutrals.
I do have a wardrobe of items in these colours available to use, so please don’t worry if you don’t have anything suitable.
Do make sure that you wear something in similar colours so that we can capture a couple of images of you together at this special stage of their little lives.
