Finding Time For Fitness // Exercise Class for Mums in Woodley
Exercise classes for new Mums
Buggyfit Classes in Berkshire
I started going to Claire's Buggyfit classes in Woodley after the arrival of my youngest, Jack. I hadn't discovered the class with my first two, so was pleased to have found a fitness class that I could attend without having to sign up to a weekly commitment. With three young children plus running a business I was already spread pretty thin in terms of available time I had each week, but I wanted to dedicate some time to me and becoming fitter. This is where Claire came in, her drop-in Buggyfit classes were just what I needed. I persuaded a friend to come along with me and we soon looked forward to our work out in Woodley each week. I have never been a particularly energetic person; I've never been to the gym and although I have tried different fitness classes over the years I have never stuck to any. Its just not my thing, I know some people really enjoy keeping fit but I would much rather be sat stuffing my face with cake!
Perfect, I'd found my groove and got into the routine of turning up and being put through my paces by Claire. I don't think we were the best 'students' as we were often the ones chatting at the back, and spent far too much time laughing which probably meant that we weren't working as hard as we could have been! But I felt like I was doing something to improve my fitness, so that was something to tick off my to-do list.
The time then came for my friend to go back to work and I lost my partner in crime (we miss you Lucy!) Along with this I lost my motivation and soon fell out of the routine of going. Weeks and months passed where I would tell myself that next week I'll go back, but life got in the way and it just never happened. Fast forward 10 months and I am pleased to say that I have finally managed to get my arse back there - success! I was worried about how my body would cope after basically spending the whole of the winter in hibernation but I survived (just about!)
I had totally forgotten about the feeling after exercise, you know the bit where the endorphins kick in and you feel like you can take on the world? I'm blissfully enjoying that period as I sit here typing this, trying not to think about the agony I'm going to be in for the rest of the week.
Claire's buggy fit class really is a must for any Mum out there, I thoroughly recommend it. It is a great opportunity to get out and meet other Mums, have a laugh and get fit. Mum life can sometimes be a bit isolating, especially if you don't know many other Mums. Perhaps you are the first in your group of friends to have a baby, or maybe all of your Mummy friends have gone back to work? Give Buggyfit a go, they are such a friendly bunch.
Fancy it? Claire runs Buggyfit classes at Woodford Park in Woodley every Monday and Wednesday at 10.15am, Monday at 1.30pm in Caversham and Thursdays at 1.30pm at Prospect park. At just £4 per session it is frankly a bloody bargain, so as long as you have had your 6 week health check after having baby you haven't got any excuse not to give it a go! Maybe I'll see you there?
