Photoshoots for babies at home

A family enjoying each other; the joy that a baby brings is obvious and that is what I aim to capture for you. The love, the excitement, the pure emotion that overrides the moment.

Unstaged, authentic and honest are the three words that I would use to describe my approach to my home-story photography sessions. I will offer guidance on where is best in terms of lighting around the house, but otherwise I will follow your lead and snap away while you enjoy time with your new arrival. A cup of tea is a great place to start when I arrive (one sugar for me please!), and a bit of time to get to know you all. Then we’ll get on with capturing beautifully organic images of you and your favourite people.

This is exactly what I did for Mike and Zoe when I visited to photograph them with their beautiful new Son Harry. At nine weeks old he was more awake and alert than a newborn, meaning that his cute little personality was starting to shine through. The beauty of a more relaxed, natural photoshoot is that there is no age limit to when I can come and photograph little ones at home. 9 days or 9 weeks, the concept remains the same.

If you’re worried about having photos taken at home because of the chaos that a new baby can bring, then worry not. I’m a Mum, I get it. The last thing you want to be worrying about after bringing baby home is the state of the house! Washing piles up, cards and gifts are scattered around the house along with all of the new clothes and equipment that a new baby needs. If that sounds like you then let’s look for an Airbnb. There are some gorgeous properties available to rent in the local area, providing the perfect backdrop for your relaxed family photoshoot.
