5 reasons to book a Sitter Session
Sitting Baby Photoshoots…what’s all the fuss about?
They’re only the most fun EVER! Sitter sessions are something I recommend to all of my Pregnancy and Newborn clients, but what are they? Exactly as it sounds, for babies that are now sitting. Once they are able to sit independently and confidently, usually around 6-8 months, it’s time to get them back into the studio, here are 5 reasons why…
Developmental Milestone
This is a ‘must-capture’ milestone in baby’s first year. You may have booked a photographer to capture your pregnancy and/or newborn, the Sitter stage is an important developmental milestone and warrants it’s own photoshoot. Life looks very different sitting up (don’t forget they spent the first few months horizontal!) so everything is new and exciting.
Big Personality
2. Their little personalities are really starting to shine through and make for wonderful portraits! Big dribbly smiles & wide eyes taking everything in. CUTE!!
Catch ‘em while you can
3. It won’t be long before they’re on the move which makes photographing them much more difficult. Once they’re crawling and then walking they won’t want to sit still long enough for photos.
Short & Sweet
4. Sitter sessions are shorter than a newborn session, typically taking less than an hour. They’re also ALL the fun. It’s pretty much a playdate with me and my camera.
Big Changes
5. A baby changes so much during the first year. A Sitter session captures them between newborn and first Birthday. You’ll see a huge difference in just those few months!
